Bandits Attack Borno Police Station, Kill Policeman, Wife, Burn Vehicles

Boko Haram terrorists launched a deadly attack on the Police Divisional Station in Jakana, Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State on Sunday.

The assault resulted in the tragic loss of a policeman and his wife.

According to intelligence sources, the terrorists, who arrived in large numbers, engaged the police in a fierce gun battle before overpowering them.

The attackers then set ablaze two police patrol vehicles and a Civilian Joint Task Force vehicle, making off with a motorcycle. The incident was confirmed by the police to counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad area, Zagazola Makama.

Attempts by SaharaReporters to contact Kenneth Daso, the spokesperson for the state police command, were unsuccessful as he did not respond to calls. However, according to Zagazola Makama, the state police commissioner, Yusuf Lawan, has confirmed the incident. The attacked police station is located in Jakana, approximately 45 kilometres from Maiduguri, along the Damaturu-Maiduguri expressway.
