Atiku reveals solution to PDP’s internal crises

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar announced that the upcoming party congresses would resolve the internal conflicts within the Katsina State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He made this statement during a press interaction in Katsina on Saturday. He also mentioned that he was in the city to offer condolences to the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Kabir-Usman, following the passing of his son, Abdullah Abdulmumini.

He said, “I also condoled with the family of former governor of the defunct Kaduna State, the late Alhaji Lawal Kaita, over the death of his widow, Hajiya Yelwa Lawal-Kaita.’’

Atiku also visited former President Muhammadu Buhari at his Daura country home, after which, he condoled with the family of the late Sade, father to the Managing Director, NNPC Trading Limited, Lawal Dade.

He then visited the Emir of Daura, Umar Farouq and condoled with him over Sade’s demise.

On the internal crises that had divided the party, Atiku said, “There will soon be congresses, so, people will elect whom they want to be their party leaders.”

Recall that a group called ‘PDP major stakeholders’ and the state caretaker committee were at loggerhead over the sales of congress forms.

While the group claimed that they were denied purchase of the forms, the state caretaker committee remained silent on the issue amid several efforts to hear from its side on the allegation.
