Atiku Forms Opposition Coalition to Challenge Tinubu in 2027

Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has announced a coalition of opposition parties aiming to remove President Bola Tinubu from power in the 2027 election.

Speaking at a press conference at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, Atiku confirmed that opposition leaders have come together to strengthen their chances against the current administration. The announcement comes at a time when political tensions are rising, particularly with the recent developments in Rivers State.

President Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State has sparked widespread reactions. Many political stakeholders have condemned the decision, calling it unconstitutional and an attempt to take control of the state government. The move, which led to the suspension of the governor, deputy governor, and state lawmakers, has raised concerns about the federal government’s influence over states.
