It is was like a soap opera on Wednesday as Mrs Folayemi Omoleye, Justice of the Appeal court, allegedly entered into a branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at Ijapo Estate, Akure, to slap a-68-year-old woman assistant pastor and one other during an ongoing church service over alleged public disturbance.

Starnews gathered that Justice Omoyele has been complaining of public disturbance as a result of noises coming from the church during church service before the faithful day.

A church member told starnews that she allegedly entered the church and disrupted the service by recording the church’s ongoing service with her mobile phone.

Her action was challenged by some church members for recording their activities but she was alleged to have been infuriated by assaulting an elderly woman, one of those who challenged her and allegedly slapped another pastor in the process who attempted to stop her video recording.

The incident has been confirmed by pastor Olatunde Awoyelu of the parish and Pastor Idris Umar of the RCCG Region 22, Ondo, who said the church Authority had directed its lawyer to write a petition against the judge for her alleged dishonourable action of slapping the 68-year-old assistant pastor, Mrs Felicia Akindurojoye, and another parish pastor, Felix Solomon, during Wednesday’s divine encounter service.

Meanwhile, the Punch has reported that the Ondo State Police Command, on Thursday, said it had commenced investigation into the alleged assault on worshipers and the pastors of the Redeemed Christian Church of God by a judge of the Court of Appeal, Justice Folayemi Omoleye.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, who confirmed the incident to the Punch correspondent, said the command had also interrogated the judge over the incident.

“We can confirm the incident; the DPO led a team to the scene and we have interrogated the judge. We have also commenced investigation into the matter,” he stated.
