APC Suspends Ex-Lawmaker, 9 Officials in Kebbi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has removed a former member of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Shehu Koko, and nine other key officials from the party.

The suspension happened in Koko Local Government Area, where Koko once represented Koko/Maiyama Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.

This action came after party leaders accused the former lawmaker and the other officials of working against the party’s interests, showing disloyalty, and disturbing the peace among party executives.

The officials removed include the vice chairman of APC in Koko LGA, Muhammad Danyado; the secretary, Biyaminu Muhammad; the women leader, Talatu Zauro; and others such as the youth leader, financial secretary, and welfare secretary.

The suspension was confirmed through a letter signed by the APC chairman in Koko LGA, Muhammad Maibarga, and the local government executive chairman, Sirajo Usman Koko, along with 14 other top party members.

Although some close associates of the suspended lawmaker refused to comment publicly, there are suggestions that the decision may be linked to his future political goals.

Reports said that he is interested in running for a Senate position in 2027, a move that might have created tension among party leaders in the state.
