Aiyedatiwa’s Aide, Obayangan, Storms Irele for Ore Festival


…Inaugurates Campaign Office

The Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Forestry (South), Hon. Bidemi Obayangan, on Thursday, made a grand appearance in Irele town as part of activities marking this year’s Ore Festival celebration.

The colourful cultural event witnessed a large turnout of indigenes, party loyalists, traditional rulers, and well-wishers from within and outside the community.

In a significant political move, Starnews NG reports that Hon. Obayangan leveraged the occasion to officially open his House of Representatives campaign office in the heart of Irele Local Government Area, signalling his readiness to contest for a legislative seat.

While addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Hon. Obayangan expressed deep appreciation to his family, friends, political associates, and supporters who honoured his invitation and stood by him during the occasion. He greeted the people warmly in his native dialect, saying, “Eku Odun oo”, a traditional Yoruba greeting used during festivals.

The Special Assistant extended special greetings to the revered monarch of Irele Kingdom, thanking the king for his support and for preserving the cultural heritage of the land. He also acknowledged the presence of key party stakeholders and community leaders, stating that their attendance demonstrated unity and a shared commitment to the development of Irele.

“I am deeply humbled by the show of love from my people today. This festival is not just a celebration of our culture but a reminder of our strength in unity. May we all live to witness many more Ore Festivals in good health and prosperity,” Obayangan prayed.

Among the dignitaries present was the Executive Chairman of Irele Local Government, who joined other guests in celebrating the festival and inspecting the newly opened campaign office.

Hon. Obayangan’s presence at the Ore Festival and the simultaneous launch of his campaign office mark a strategic political move ahead of the 2027 general elections. Supporters described him as a grassroots mobiliser who remains connected to his roots and passionate about the progress of the people.

The celebration featured traditional dances, music, cultural displays, and communal feasting, showcasing the rich heritage of the Irele people.
