Africa’s Progress Depends On Youths’ Collective Strength– NYA President

The President of the National Youth Alliance (NYA), Amb. Aliyu Bin Abbas, has submitted that for Africa to develop to its full potentials, it must harness the collective strength of its youth.

He expressed this, when he paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso, His Excellency, Hon. Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, for a high-level discussion centered on strengthening bilateral relations and advancing youth inclusion in governance on Saturday.

This was contained in a statemeht signed by the NYA President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, dated Sunday August 24, 2025.

“Africa’s progress depends on the collective strength of its youth and the active inclusion of women in governance, policy-making, and economic transformation,” he said.

He stressed that the National Youth Alliance remains committed to forging continental alliances that will accelerate the vision of a united and prosperous Africa.

The meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, underscored the urgent need to build stronger cooperation between African nations through people-to-people diplomacy and sustainable youth-driven initiatives.

Discussions highlighted the importance of a bilateral working relationship between Nigeria and Burkina Faso in areas such as youth empowerment, women’s participation in leadership, education, innovation, and peacebuilding. Both leaders reaffirmed the commitment to promoting a Pan-Africanist agenda driven by young people and women as the vanguard of Africa’s future.

The Youth President’s visit marks a significant step in consolidating African solidarity and reawakening the spirit of Pan-Africanism through the active participation of young leaders.
