Adeleke Reaffirms Commitment to Infrastructure Development in Osun

By Charles Maduka

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has restated his administration’s dedication to improving public infrastructure across various sectors of the state.

Speaking through the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, Adeleke noted that Osun is witnessing progressive development in transportation, education, health, and agriculture. His remarks followed his recognition by City People as the Most Impactful Governor of the Year in Infrastructure.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke expressed gratitude for the honour and emphasized that both new and ongoing projects would be completed as part of his mission to bridge the infrastructure gap inherited by his administration.

“Osun State under our watch is getting upgraded infrastructure in transport, education, health, agriculture, water, power, digital economy, among others,” the governor said. “We will not stop until Osun attains the number one position on the infrastructure rating.”

In a related engagement in London, Adeleke, represented by Soji Adewusi, advocated for Nigeria to adopt the diaspora strategies of Asian and Arab nations. He made the call while speaking at the Cultural Hangout Festival in commemoration of Africa Day.

He argued that African communities abroad can achieve greater economic empowerment and cultural preservation by learning from the tight-knit and coordinated diaspora practices of the Pakistani, Indian, and Arab populations.

“These communities succeed by maintaining strong cultural and traditional links with their roots,” Adeleke said. “The abandonment of individualism and the embrace of community-based strategies have made them the most successful immigrant groups in Europe and North America. Africans should take a cue.”
