Adamawa govt to prosecute parents stopping children’s education

The Adamawa state Government has mapped out strategies for enhancing the education sector in accordance with the investments made by the state Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

To this end, the State government has revealed intentions to take legal action against parents who prevent their children from going to school.

Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Umar Garba Pella, disclosed this after a significant meeting with important stakeholders in the education field.

The gathering, organized by the Deputy Governor of the state, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, took place in the conference hall of her office on Tuesday.

Dr. Pella emphasized the meeting’s goal and underscored the government’s dedication to tackling the issue of children not in school.

He disclosed that a committee for monitoring and evaluation has been formed to guarantee improved oversight and effective learning in educational institutions.

He also emphasized that parents who stop their children from going to school will encounter legal repercussions.

Dr. Pella raised concerns regarding the current condition of the education sector, despite considerable investments, and urged for enhanced coordination and initiatives to attain improved educational results for the state.
