Dr. Sandra Duru, a Nigerian activist based in the United States, has publicly accused suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of attempting to fabricate accusations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, allegedly offering her N200 million to do so.
During a live Facebook session on Thursday night, Duru, also known as “Prof. Mgbeke,” revealed shocking details of her interactions with Akpoti-Uduaghan, claiming the senator sought her help in accusing Akpabio of organ harvesting after previous sexual harassment allegations failed to gain momentum.
Duru shared call logs and WhatsApp messages as evidence to counter Natasha’s claim that they had never communicated. She labeled the senator as “a pathological liar,” asserting that the discussions exposed a wider political scheme.
According to Duru, Akpoti-Uduaghan told her that attacking the current government was a surefire way to gain popularity in Nigeria, pointing out that Nigerians are “gullible and hungry.” Duru further alleged that Natasha revealed she had been promised either the governorship position in Kogi State or a role as Minister of Petroleum in exchange for her efforts.
The activist also claimed that Natasha shared a plan with her sponsors to force Akpabio’s resignation in order to undermine President Bola Tinubu’s political position and prevent his re-election.
In her one-hour, eight-minute broadcast, Duru also accused Akpoti-Uduaghan of bribing former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, to interfere with Senate proceedings and prevent the submission of evidence on the sexual harassment claims.
Duru stated that Natasha admitted the sexual harassment allegations were false and expressed dissatisfaction with Ezekwesili and another associate for failing to defend her during the Senate investigation.
Further allegations were made by Duru, who claimed Natasha asked her to contact foreign organizations, including UK parliamentary bodies, and accuse Akpabio of organ harvesting. Natasha allegedly linked Akpabio to the death of a young woman named Umoren, suggesting that her kidney was taken for the senator’s wife.
“She was determined to remove Akpabio from his position,” Duru said, adding that Natasha believed Akpabio was hindering her sponsors’ objectives in the National Assembly.
Although Duru refrained from revealing all of Natasha’s comments about her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, she did mention that the senator had accused him of poisoning her, threatening to retaliate in kind.
Duru concluded by stating that after refusing Natasha’s offer of money, she faced threats. She also revealed that she had shared crucial evidence and names with relevant authorities.
