Abuja’s Leadership in 2027 Must Remain with the APC – Ganduje

Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has asserted that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is too crucial to be governed by opposition parties such as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) in the upcoming 2027 elections.

Ganduje made this statement on Thursday in Abuja during a reception welcoming new APC members who had defected from various opposition parties. One notable defector, Chris Maikalangu, the Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), led a group to the event at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja.

He highlighted that the defections signified a growing confidence in the APC among FCT residents, which he believes will translate into a win for President Bola Tinubu and the APC in the next election.

Emphasizing the importance of the FCT as the nation’s capital and a symbol of national unity, Ganduje argued that it should not be left under the control of opposition parties. He stressed that the leadership of Abuja must remain with the APC to ensure its continued development and prominence.

Ganduje also commended President Tinubu for appointing several Abuja indigenes to key positions in his government, which he believes has strengthened the party’s influence in the territory.

Zephaniah Jisalo, the Minister of Special Duties, also praised the president for fulfilling his promise to empower natives of the FCT and ensure they have a voice in the administration. Jisalo reaffirmed Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive governance and the well-being of Abuja’s residents.

Mariya Bunkure, Minister of State for the FCT, urged the residents to continue supporting the APC, emphasizing the administration’s dedication to improving their living standards.
