In a decisive move against criminal elements, Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade Jalingo, has spearheaded a ground assault targeting terrorist and kidnapper hideouts in the mountainous areas of Taraba State.

The operation, described as a significant step in the fight against insecurity, highlights the Nigerian Army’s commitment to eradicating terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry in the region.

Addressing journalists from the frontlines, Brigadier General Uwa reaffirmed the military’s determination to restore peace in Taraba State. “We are fully committed to eliminating all forms of criminality, including terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry. This mission is a top priority, and we are resolute in achieving it,” he said.

The offensive began early in the morning, targeting entrenched hideouts of armed groups responsible for attacks, abductions, and violent raids on local communities. Military sources revealed that several strategic locations within Taraba’s rugged terrain had been identified as criminal enclaves, with the operation aimed at dismantling them completely.

Leading his troops into the heart of these hideouts, Brigadier General Uwa expressed confidence in the success of the mission. He commended the skills and dedication of his troops and acknowledged the vital support from other security agencies. “We will relentlessly pursue these criminals until the threat they pose to the peace and security of Taraba State is neutralized,” he declared.

Local communities, long plagued by violence and kidnappings, have welcomed the operation with optimism. Residents hope the military’s unyielding efforts will finally bring lasting peace and security to the region.

The Nigerian Army reiterated its resolve to protect lives and property across the nation, with Brigadier General Uwa’s leadership in Taraba standing as a testament to its dedication to peace and stability.
