25-year-old man found dead in suspected suicide in forest

The Ogun State Police Command has launched an investigation into the suspected suicide of a 25-year-old man, Toye Dominic, whose body was found hanging in a forest at Alagbodagbo Village, Ijebu Igbo.

The command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident in a statement on Thursday.

She said the body was discovered around 4:30 p.m. by a local hunter, Kareem Olawalose, who reported it to the Ijebu Igbo Divisional Police Headquarters.

According to Odutola, the hunter sought assistance in a nearby village, where he met the deceased’s elder brother, Joseph Dominic.

The brother revealed that Toye had gone to the farm earlier that day but did not return, prompting a search by the family.

Police officers and villagers later arrived at the scene and observed that Toye had set aside his farm tools before moving deeper into the forest, where he was found hanging from a tree. No suicide note was found, and the family expressed shock over the incident.

The police documented the scene with photographs, and the body has been taken to the General Hospital in Ijebu Ode for further examination.
