No fewer than 25 Palestinians were killed on Monday morning in a series of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, Palestinian media reported, citing local medical officials.
According to the reports, the latest round of strikes targeted different parts of the enclave, leaving behind widespread destruction and civilian casualties. The figures have not yet been independently verified, and both Hamas authorities in Gaza and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have yet to issue full official statements. The IDF, however, confirmed it was reviewing the reports.
In Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, a drone strike overnight reportedly hit a tent sheltering displaced families, killing five people, including a one-year-old infant and two children aged 12 and 13. A second strike in the same city on Monday morning was said to have left another five people dead.
Further south in Khan Younis, at least eight more people were reported killed in another air raid. Several other strikes across the territory added to the total death toll, which Palestinian outlets put at 25. Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as emergency workers and residents rushed to rescue survivors from the rubble.
The latest attacks come amid continued heavy fighting and heightened humanitarian concerns in Gaza, where thousands of civilians remain displaced. Efforts by international mediators to secure a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas are ongoing, though no concrete breakthrough has been announced.
Human rights groups have repeatedly called for restraint, warning that the rising civilian death toll highlights the urgent need for a negotiated truce.
