21 Gombe Corps Members to Repeat Service Year

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Gombe State has mandated 21 corps members to redo their service year.

This decision was announced during the Passing-Out Parade for the 2024 Batch “A” Stream 1 members in Gombe.

The State Coordinator, Mrs. Chinwe Nwachuku, revealed that these corps members abandoned their assigned duties for over three months.

In addition, 16 others faced penalties for violations, including traveling without approval, skipping Community Development Service, and other official activities.

A disciplinary committee reviewed the cases and determined appropriate sanctions for those involved.

Meanwhile, 1,268 corps members successfully completed their service in the state.

Mrs. Nwachuku praised their contributions to sectors like education, health, agriculture, and community projects, encouraging them to continue making positive impacts, Leadership reports.

She expressed hope that their experiences in Gombe State would promote unity and national integration.
