The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has declared its unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid, praising his administration’s achievements in governance.
In a statement issued after a meeting in Abuja, the Forum, led by its chairman, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, highlighted Tinubu’s efforts in improving infrastructure, tackling insecurity, and making inclusive appointments. According to the group, no administration since 1999 has benefited the North-Central region as much as Tinubu’s.
This endorsement, however, comes against a backdrop of criticism from the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), who have expressed dissatisfaction with Tinubu’s economic policies and hinted at supporting a northern candidate in 2027.
The North-Central APC Forum dismissed the opposition’s stance, expressing optimism about the president’s ongoing reforms.
“The economic policies introduced by President Tinubu are already showing positive signs,” the Forum noted. “The Naira is strengthening in the foreign exchange market, oil production is increasing, and foreign reserves are on the rise. His reforms in the petroleum sector have eliminated fuel scarcity, and we believe the cost of petroleum products will eventually decrease, reversing inflation and easing economic hardship.”
The Forum urged Nigerians to give Tinubu’s policies more time to fully deliver results, insisting that his reforms are laying the groundwork for sustainable national development.
“After careful assessment, the North-Central APC Forum gives President Tinubu a pass mark in addressing insecurity, driving infrastructure development, and implementing sound economic policies. His leadership has brought significant progress to the North-Central region,” the statement read.
The Forum pledged to work tirelessly for Tinubu’s reelection, just as it did in 2023, emphasizing that his leadership is essential to consolidating the gains of his administration.
“We stand firmly with President Tinubu,” the Forum said. “His bold and visionary leadership has put Nigeria on the path to prosperity. We urge all Nigerians to support him for a second term to deepen the positive impact of his policies.”
The statement concluded with a promise of unwavering commitment to mobilizing support for Tinubu’s reelection in 2027, reaffirming the North-Central APC Forum’s dedication to his leadership.
