2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifier: Mali Basketball Federation Expel 7 Players

Mali Basketball Federation has decided to expel seven players from the national team for refusing to play the qualifying matches for the third qualifying window of the 2023 World Cup, held in Kigali, Rwanda,” Starnews report

 

 

 

These players were selected along with others to play with the senior men’s national team to participate in the third window of the basketball world cup qualifiers, African zone and qualifiers for the Afro-Basket 2023.

 

 

 

Despite plea and persuasion, they refused to appear in the playing area to play the first two days against Uganda and Nigeria.

 

 

 

This decision follows players’ refusals to take part in the tournament without payment of their bonuses.

 

 

 

Due to their non-refusal to play Mali basketball team is eliminated from the race to qualify for the last round of the basketball World Cup qualifiers.
