Over one and a half years after exiting beneficiaries of batches A and B of the N-Power Scheme of its National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) the federal government is yet to formally engage new enrollees. Recall that the government disengaged beneficiaries of the two batches who were engaged in 2016 and 2017 respectively, in May 2020. Before the exit, the government, through its Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development which runs the scheme, had launched a portal for the 500,000 exited beneficiaries to apply for their exit packages. Queues return to Abuja filling stations as FG suspends removal of fuel subsidy
Long queues have returned to filling stations across the Federal Capital Territory, FCT. This is coming shortly after the Federal Government downplayed the possibilities of removing the subsidies on petroleum products, DAILY POST observed. Prior to the announcement by the Federal Government, there were no queues in filling stations around the federal capital city. However, the return of the queues have been linked to greed by filling station operators to make “last-minute gain”. A pastor identified as Timothy Oluwatimilehin has been arrested for allegedly sleeping with a woman and her two daughters in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Police say Timothy pastors the Spirit-Filled International Christian Church in the Olumore area of the state. Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the arrest followed a complaint lodged at Adatan Police Station by the victims’ husband and father. A former Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, Biodun Oyebanji, has emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State. Mr Oyebanji emerged victorious with 101,703 votes, defeating seven other contestants. Breakdown of the votes shows that Bamidele Faparusi polled a total of 376 votes, Ojo Kayode had 767 votes, Opeyemi Bamidele, a serving Senator had 760 votes, Dayo Adeyeye, a former lawmaker polled 691 votes, Femi Bamisile polled 400 votes. Fierce looking armed robbers have allegedly attacked a bullion van belonging to a yet to be disclosed bank. Akeredolu alleges massive payroll fraud, vows sanctions against culprits
The Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has warned civil servants in the state to desist from all forms of corruption.
