The National Emergency Management Agency on Monday, June 16, 2025, received 147 Nigerians who came back from Agadez, Niger Republic.
The returnees arrived through Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport at around 12:48 p.m.
They returned to the country voluntarily and were brought back with the support of the International Organisation for Migration, working alongside other partners focused on migrant welfare.
NEMA said that out of the total number, 143 were adult males.
The rest included one male child, one adult female, and two female children.
After landing in Kano, they were taken to Badala Hotel for registration and profiling the next day, June 17.
During the process, one of the returnees fell ill and got medical attention from the Red Cross.
The return is part of ongoing efforts to help Nigerians stuck in difficult situations outside the country find their way back home and restart their lives.
