Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Saturday, said he was happy that distinguished Senator Nicholas Tofowomo of Ondo South is alive following his involvement in a motor accident.

Tofowomo who represents Ondo South Senatorial District of Ondo State at the Senate, on September 6, 2019, involved in a car accident with three other chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), including a-2020 governorship Aspirant, Banji Okunomo, along Igbara Oke, Akure road, few kilometers away from Akure, Ondo State Capital.

One of the victims of the accident, Mrs Toyin Ajinde, died 13 days after, despite undergoing series of surgical operations to save her life at University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital in Ondo town of the state.

Governor Makinde sent a-5man delegation to Ondo State to visit the Senator to sympathise with him and all the victims of the accident including the family of the bereaved, Late Mrs Ajinde.

The governor said there is no leave that falls from a tree that God didn’t know about. He also said the incident was a mere temporary set back for PDP in Ondo State, assuring and promising that, things would go in order to restore Ondo State PDP to form the government of the state in year 2021.

He spoke through his Special Adviser on Strategy and Political matters, Hon. Babatunde Oduyoye, head of the delegation to Ondo State.

Oduyoye quoted the governor to have said:

”The Governor has spoken with the Senator on phone and he also ask us to check on him and to ascertain the level of his recuperation.”

”His excellency said you should not be too upset over what happened; he said there’s no leave that falls from a tree that God didn’t know about. No one can question the authority of the most high God, we should also be thankful that it’s not more than this.”

”Being the only PDP governor in the southwest, he promised not to leave Ondo State PDP alone. He assured he would make sure things go the way it should be so that Ondo State will be for PDP.”

”He said we shouldn’t be discouraged but instead, have faith in God that all the happenings are mere  temporary set back. The governor said he is happy that you are alive. He assured all members of our party that PDP will surely form Government of Ondo State in year 2020”

Other members of the delegation include: Prince Diran Adeyemi, PDP Deputy National publicity Secretary, Mr Moses Alao- Special Assistant on print media to the Governor, Dare Alesinloye – Special Assistant (photography ) to the Governor, and the Chief security officer to the oyo state Governor.
