Youth Sentenced to Death for Stealing Fowl in Osun

A young man in Osun State, Nigeria, has been sentenced to death by hanging for allegedly stealing a fowl, sparking public outrage and drawing significant attention.

In response to the verdict, Governor Ademola Adeleke expressed his concern, calling the sentence alarming.

He stated that he had directed the state attorney general and commissioner for justice to thoroughly investigate the case and take steps to grant clemency.

“Osun is a state built on justice and fairness,” Governor Adeleke emphasized, reaffirming his commitment to upholding justice and the value of human life.

He assured the public that the matter was being addressed with urgency under his direct supervision.
