The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL) has expressed its full support for Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the next Governor of Lagos State in the upcoming 2027 elections.

According to Politics Nigeria, in a statement issued by the group’s President General, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, CONYL emphasized Seyi Tinubu’s qualifications, education, and leadership potential, asserting that he is well-equipped to steer Lagos toward continued progress and prosperity.

This endorsement counters the recent prophecy made by Prelate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church. Ayodele had predicted that Seyi Tinubu, alongside Senator Tokunbo Abiru and Gbenga Ashafa, should abandon any aspirations of becoming governor. He further suggested that Hakeem Muri-Okunola, Principal Secretary to President Tinubu, would be the next in line to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

In response, CONYL dismissed Ayodele’s prophecy, citing his past inaccurate predictions, including his erroneous forecast that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would win the 2023 presidential election over President Tinubu.

The group expressed unwavering confidence in Seyi Tinubu’s broad support among Lagosians and his capacity to bring positive change to the state.

“Seyi Tinubu has earned the admiration and backing of the people of Lagos, and we are certain he will emerge as the next governor in 2027,” the statement concluded.
