Xenophobic Attack: South Africans are behaving like loose cannon- Senator Tofowomo

  • Says FG must sanction South African government Immediately

Senator Nicholas Tofowomo, representing Ondo South at the Senate, has called on Federal Government of Nigeria to sanction South Africa Government immediately over xenophobic attack on Nigerians and other Africans.

In a statement by Akinrinlola Olumide, his media Aide, the Ondo South Senator described the frequent attack on Nigerians by South Africans as a war against Nigeria. He added that, the government of South Africa did not do enough to protect Nigerians who stood by them during the apartheid era.

The Senator also said that South African government has lost control; thus, advising all Nigerians in the country to as a matter of urgency seek refuge in neighbouring countries pending when they would return back to their country home.

“Nigerians should please calm down and not attack South Africans investments and interests in Nigeria. The South Africans are behaving like lose-canon. Nigerians should not behave like them,” the statement added.
