Woman Dies After Jumping Off Third Mainland Bridge

A woman lost her life after reportedly jumping off the Third Mainland Bridge into the University of Lagos (UNILAG) waterfront on Thursday around 3 p.m.

Her identity remains unknown, as no form of identification was found on her.

Marine Police officers from the Akoka division were alerted about an hour after the incident.

They quickly moved to the scene and pulled her out of the water.

She was taken to the UNILAG shore, where medical personnel examined her, but she was confirmed dead.

Her body has been taken to the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) morgue in Yaba for autopsy and preservation.

The Lagos State Police Command has begun investigations to identify her and determine the details surrounding the incident.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about her to come forward.
