MInister to the Federal Capital territory, Nyesom Wike has confirmed that Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, recently visited him with two All Progressives Congress (APC) governors to ask for peace.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory said the meeting took place at his residence and included Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, and former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba.
According to reports, Fubara entered Wike’s home freely, showing he was comfortable with the environment.
He came with a clear message—he wanted an end to the political crisis between them.
Those present said the conversation focused on ways to calm the tension that has unsettled Rivers State for months.
Fubara’s visit happened weeks after President Bola Tinubu suspended him in March over a deepening clash with Wike.
The conflict between the two leaders has caused serious division in the state, with both sides trying to control the political space.
Though no detailed outcome of the visit has been shared, many believe Fubara’s action shows a readiness to fix things.
