Why kids should not be beaten – Comedian Bovi

By Miracle Ogunde

Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma, has frowned at parents beating their kids, saying it’s not the best way to correct them when they err.

According to him, children don’t deserve to be beaten regardless of their offence.

Featuring in a recent episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Bovi also criticised the practice of senior students punishing junior colleagues in primary and secondary schools.

“I don’t advocate for beating children. You should let children be. When you hit a kid, are you really trying to correct them or are you frustrated?” he said.

“No child should be given authority over another child in the name of ‘senior student’. It really has to stop,” he declared.
