As the judgement that was handed down by the five-man panel of Appeal Court Justices at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) continues to occupy the front burner of public discourse across the country, All Progressives Congress flag bearer, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has come out to explain how he felt when news of his victory at the tribunal got to him in faraway India.

According to a report posted by ARISE NEWS on its verified Twitter handle a few hours ago, Tinubu was apologizing for arriving late at a an earlier-scheduled meeting on Thursday, September 7, when he revealed that the news of his victory in court got him so excited that he could not sleep on Wednesday night.

According to Tinubu, he had followed the court proceedings on that day to know if his job as Nigeria’s President was still secured.

He said; ” I was waiting anxiously to see if my job was secured or not. So, from that, out of excitement of the victory, I couldn’t sleep.

So, it was a very challenging day after; that was a hangover that I enjoyed and I hope we all appreciate why we are starting late. Please forgive us.”
