Why Couples should date for 10 years before marriage – American rapper, Wiz Khalifa

By Miracle Ogunde

Famous American rapper, Wiz Khalifa, says couple should date for at least a decade to enable them to know themselves and their families better before getting married.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast, the father of two said dating for at least a decade would help couples to know themselves and their families better before popping the big question.

In his words, “People should date for 10 years before getting married because that’s long enough to know the person, their family, and who you’re going to deal with when you move in together.”

When asked whether couples should cohabit before marriage or wait until after they are wed, the 37-year-old said: “It depends on the situation and the circumstances. Some people move in right away and still need time to figure it out.

“If you don’t move in right away, you’ll learn that there’s one version of the person when you’re not sharing things and a different version when you are.”

Wiz Khalifa got married to model Amber Rose on July 8, 2013, the same year they welcomed a son together.

In September 2014, Amber filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Their marriage was legally dissolved in 2016.

He is currently dating his girlfriend of five years, Aimee Aguilar, whom he recently welcomed a daughter with.
