Video: Woman cellotapes baby’s mouth in mother’s absence

By Bayero Ade

An unidentified woman, believed to be a baby carer, has been captured on video using cellotape to seal the mouth of a toddler.

In the 40-second clip obtained by Starnews NG, the woman appeared indifferent to the baby’s agonising cries and evident discomfort.

Speaking in Yoruba while laughing hysterically, she said, “I pity your situation, if not I would seal your mouth. Be caring so that your mother would see how you are troubling me.”

At the time of filing this report, Starnews NG could not independently verify the location of the incident.

Cellotape, according to an online definition, is a brand name often used generically to describe transparent adhesive tape. It is typically employed for sticking or sealing items like paper or lightweight materials, known for its adhesive property on one side that bonds surfaces together.
