UK Appoints British-Nigerian as Trade Envoy to Nigeria

Florence Eshalomi, a British-Nigerian politician and Member of Parliament for Vauxhall and Camberwell Green, has been named the United Kingdom’s new trade envoy to Nigeria.

At 44, Eshalomi becomes the second Nigerian to hold this role.

She holds a degree in Political and International Studies with Law from Middlesex University.

In her new role, she is expected to work on fostering stronger economic ties between the UK and Nigeria, supporting investment and driving growth for both nations.

UK’s Business and Trade Secretary, Jonathan Reynolds, stated that the new team of trade envoys will focus on expanding markets for British businesses and attracting investments to the UK.

Eshalomi expressed excitement about the opportunity and the chance to strengthen the relationship between the UK and Nigeria.

She aims to explore new avenues for growth and collaboration.
