By Miracle Ogunde

Real Madrid and Liverpool FC, on Tuesday night secured crucial wins against their opponents, Atalanta and Girona respectively, in the newly modified UEFA champions League.

Meanwhile, three teams have been officially eliminated from the competition.

RB Leipzig became the latest club with no possibility of progressing into the Round of 16 after losing 3-2 to Aston on Tuesday night.

The Bundesliga side have now lost six out of the six fixtures they have played so far and have no single point with two games left.

Leipzig sit in 34th place, ahead of Slovan Bratislava and Young Boys, who are also on zero point.

However, teams like Bologna, Salzburg, Crvena Zvezda, Girona and Sturm Graz are in serious danger of crashing out of the competition in the league phase.
