Two remanded for flogging man to death

Imole Dauda, 19, and Lateef Tajudeen, 30, were remanded by the Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan on Friday for allegedly beating a 22-year-old man to death with a ‘Koboko’.

The defendants, whose addresses were not disclosed, are facing charges of conspiracy and murder.

Magistrate Oluwabusayo Osho declined to hear their petitions, citing a lack of jurisdiction. She instructed the police to forward the case file to the state Director of Public Prosecutions for further advice.

The case has been adjourned for a hearing on July 18.

Earlier, Prosecutor Inspector Olalekan Adegbite told the court that the defendants murdered Tosin Adenuga on May 10 at 8 a.m. in Ilupeju, Ibadan.

Adegbite stated that the two men unlawfully killed Adenuga by flogging him with a ‘Koboko’ all over his body, actions that contravene sections 516
