Trump has pardoned Rod Blagojevich, a former Illinois governor who was convicted of corruption.
Blagojevich was removed from office in 2009 and later found guilty of attempting to sell the Senate seat left vacant when Barack Obama became president in 2008.
This is not the first time Trump has intervened in Blagojevich’s case.
In 2020, during his first term, Trump commuted his 14-year prison sentence, allowing him to walk free after serving eight years.
Trump, who returned to the White House in January, has used his pardon powers multiple times.
On his inauguration night, he pardoned about 1,500 individuals linked to the January 6 Capitol riot.
He has also granted pardons to anti-abortion activists and Ross Ulbricht, the creator of the Silk Road online marketplace.
