Toronto, Canada – Babatunde Afuwape, a 28-year-old resident of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with the murder of 20-year-old university student Shivank Avasthi.

The Toronto Police shared the news on their official X account on Wednesday, highlighting the seriousness of the crime and the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have urged anyone who may have interacted with Afuwape on that day to come forward, stating, “We believe more people may have interacted with the accused on that day. If you have any information, please come forward. Even small details can be significant.”
