The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara, has condemned the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, claiming they have worsened poverty and hardship across the country.
Speaking at an emergency meeting of the PDP Board of Trustees in Abuja on Thursday, December 5, 2024, Wabara described the current administration’s reforms as poorly implemented, resulting in a sharp increase in the cost of living and pushing millions of Nigerians further into poverty.
“The skyrocketing cost of living, coupled with poorly executed economic reforms, has plunged millions of Nigerians into deeper poverty,” Wabara stated.
He further urged PDP members to remain united, stressing the importance of setting aside personal ambitions for the collective progress of the party and the nation. Wabara emphasized that only through unity can the party present itself as a credible alternative to the ruling government.
“We must not allow personal ambitions or differences to overshadow our shared vision for a better Nigeria,” he added.
The remarks come amid growing discontent among Nigerians over the country’s economic situation, with widespread calls for urgent reforms to alleviate poverty and improve living conditions. Wabara called on the PDP to stay focused on offering solutions to Nigeria’s economic challenges while remaining steadfast in its mission to serve the people.
