Tinubu Worried Over Disorganised Opposition – Akpabio

President Bola Tinubu has expressed concern about the lack of unity within Nigeria’s opposition parties, saying he wants to see a more active and organised opposition.

This was made known on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, during the inauguration of the Arterial Road N20 Interchange Bridges in Abuja, where Senate President Godswill Akpabio represented the President.

According to Akpabio, Tinubu believes a strong opposition is important for the country’s democracy.

He said the President is not happy about the current state of the opposition, pointing out that both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) are dealing with internal issues.

Akpabio mentioned that while PDP is facing problems, Labour Party is also experiencing division.

He added that some of their members, despite the situation in their parties, are aiming to lead the country.

He said Tinubu is closely watching how these parties operate and feels disappointed that those seeking to lead Nigeria are unable to manage their own political platforms.
