Tinubu Returns to Abuja After Tanzania Energy Summit

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Abuja on Tuesday evening after attending the Africa Heads of State Energy Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. His flight landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport around 7:40 pm.

He was welcomed by key officials, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

The summit, organized by Tanzania with support from the African Development Bank and the World Bank, focused on increasing energy access across Africa. It introduced “Mission 300,” a plan to provide electricity to 300 million Africans by 2030.

Discussions centered on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and funding from private investors. African leaders, civil society, and development partners shared ideas to address energy challenges.

Nigeria presented its energy plans on the first day, while Heads of State signed a declaration on the second day, outlining steps for achieving universal energy access.

President Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to clean energy and regional leadership. He was accompanied by ministers and senior officials during the summit.
