President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the nomination of Dr. Jide Martins Adewinle, popularly known as JMA, as a member of the board for the South West Development Commission (SWDC).
On Thursday, the President urged the Senate to consider and confirm his nominees for appointment to the boards of the development commissions for the South West, North Central, and South South regions.
According to Starnews NG, the South West Development Commission’s board include a former senator from Ekiti State, Olubunmi Adetunmbi, as Chairman, alongside Charles Akinola as Managing Director.
Other board members include Bolaji Ariyo, Joseph Olugbenga, Scholastica Omoworare, Olumuyiwa Olabimtan, Ibrahim Olaifa, Kabiru Lakwaya, retired General Abdul Adamu, Arinola Fagbemi, Ukoha Onyekwere, Howell Ihenacho, Olugbenga Olufehinti, Tele Ogunjobi, Funmilayo Tejuosho, Fatai Ibikunle, and Lateef Ajijola.
Starnews NG reports that Dr. Adewinle was born in the mid-1970s in Ode-Aye, located in the Okitipupa local government area of Ondo State.
Dr. Adewinle holds master’s degrees in Accounting, Finance, and Business Administration from three different universities and has earned a doctorate in Finance. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant, a Fellow Chartered Certified Forensic Accountant and Auditor, a Fellow of the Chartered National Accountants of Nigeria, a Fellow member of the Association of Forensic Accountants Researchers, an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, and an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in Nigeria.
Through hard work and perseverance, he studied diligently to become a proud member of all major professional bodies in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Banking, and Business.
His professional journey began in banking, where he climbed the ranks at Oceanic Bank PLC (now EcoBank PLC) before transitioning to the oil and gas sector. He later founded West Africa Petrogas Global Limited, an indigenous company that has made significant strides in various industries.
