Tinubu Appoints New NABTEB Registrar, UBEC Board Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Aminu as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).

Dr. Aminu holds a Ph.D. in Automobile Technology and a Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management. He has spent 28 years working in education, research, and policy development. Before this appointment, he was the Director of Procurement at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI). He has written several publications on vocational education, youth development, and poverty reduction. He is also a member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria and the Automotive and Locomotive Engineers Institute.

President Tinubu expects Dr. Aminu to use his experience to improve NABTEB’s role in certifying skilled professionals for Nigeria’s industrial sector.

In addition to this appointment, President Tinubu has named Mr. Idris Olorunnimbe as the Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Board.

Other appointments at UBEC include Rasaq Olajuwon from the South West, who will serve as Deputy Executive Secretary (Technical), and Tunde Ajibulu from the North Central, who will take on the role of Deputy Executive Secretary (Services).

Mr. Olorunnimbe is known for his work in youth empowerment, education, and leadership. As the Group CEO of The Temple Company, which he founded in 2016, he has been involved in projects related to education, entertainment, and sports. He also served on the Board of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), where he played a role in youth employment and entrepreneurship programs.
