President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed eight new permanent secretaries in the federal civil service to fill existing and anticipated vacancies across various states and geopolitical zones.
The announcement was made on Monday in a statement by Presidential Spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, who explained that the appointments followed a rigorous selection process conducted by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
The newly appointed permanent secretaries are Onwusoro Maduka Ihemelandu (Abia), Ndiomu Ebiogeh Philip (Bayelsa), Anuma Ogbonnaya Nlia (Ebonyi), Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam (Enugu), Kalba Danjuma Usman (Gombe), Usman Salihu Aminu (Kebbi), Oyekunle Patience Nwakuso (Rivers), and Nadungu Gagare (Kaduna).
This is the second round of permanent secretary appointments under President Tinubu’s administration, following a similar exercise in June 2023, which covered states including Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Jigawa, Ondo, Zamfara, and other South-East and South-South regions.
President Tinubu urged the new appointees to bring diligence, commitment, and innovative approaches to their roles in serving the nation.
