Three members of the House of Representatives from Katsina State have left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The move was announced during a plenary session at the National Assembly in Abuja, where the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, read out their letters.
The lawmakers said they made the switch due to long-standing problems in the PDP.
They explained that unresolved disputes and constant disagreements within the party had affected their ability to deliver good service to the people they represent.
According to them, staying in such a troubled party made it harder to support development and stable leadership.
Their move to the APC adds more strength to the ruling party, which has been attracting new members from other parties, especially in important states like Katsina.
The shift is seen as part of a larger trend where politicians seek platforms that offer better unity and control.
Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State was present in the chamber when the lawmakers made their new political choice official.
