A tragic explosion involving a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday has left one person dead and seven others injured.

According to Peoples Gazette, Sheriff Kevin McMahill confirmed the incident, reporting that smoke was seen rising from the vehicle before it exploded in a violent blast. The driver of the Cybertruck tragically lost his life in the explosion, while the other seven individuals sustained injuries.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the explosion. McMahill highlighted the increased security measures, recalling a similar incident in New Orleans where a vehicle was driven into a crowd, leading to multiple fatalities and injuries.

“We are acutely aware of the events in New Orleans,” McMahill remarked. “Given the explosion on the famed Las Vegas Boulevard, we are taking every necessary step to protect the safety of our community.”

Eric Trump, son of President-elect Donald Trump and a leader of the Trump Organization, addressed the incident on Twitter, confirming the electric vehicle fire.

“Our guests’ and staff’s safety and well-being remain our top priority,” he said.
