Terrorists on Monday evening launched a violent attack on Isapa community in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting a pregnant woman, 10 children, two nursing mothers, and several others in a renewed wave of kidnappings gripping the region.
The incident occurred around 6pm on November 24, 2025, when between 20 and 30 armed bandits invaded the community, firing sporadically as they advanced with a large herd of cattle. The attackers reportedly moved through multiple areas in the town, leaving bullet holes in walls and doors.
An elderly woman was hit by a stray bullet during the assault.
A community leader, who confirmed the attack, said at least 11 persons were taken away, including seven members of the same family. Those abducted include:
Talatu Kabiru, Magaji, Kande, Hadiza, Mariam, Saima, Habibat (housewife), Fatima Yusufu (housewife), Sarah Sunday (pregnant woman), Lami Fidelis (nursing mother), and Haja Na Allah.
Residents said expended AK-47 shells were recovered across the community after the terrorists retreated into nearby forest paths.
This latest incident comes barely days after a similar attack on Eruku, a neighbouring community in the same local government area. Terrorists had stormed a branch of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) during a meeting, killing three worshippers and abducting several others, including the pastor.
Eyewitnesses in Eruku told Newsmen that the gunmen opened fire immediately upon arrival, leaving worshippers scrambling for safety. The assailants later marched an unspecified number of kidnapped victims into the bush.
Security concerns have risen sharply across both communities amid fears of coordinated attacks by armed groups operating within the axis.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the latest abductions.
