The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has announced that Tuesday, April 29, 2025, will mark the beginning of Zulki’ida 1446AH.
This declaration follows the absence of a confirmed moon sighting for the new Islamic month on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
According to a statement from Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu, Wazirin Sokoto and Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Monday, April 28, 2025, will be observed as the final day of Shawwal 1446AH.
The Sultan also wished the Muslim community well and encouraged continued prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria.
