Sterling Bank Eliminates Transfer Fees on Local Online Transactions

Sterling Bank has made a major change by eliminating transfer fees for all local online transactions.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, marking the bank as the first major financial institution in Nigeria to remove these charges for digital banking services.

The new policy, which takes effect immediately, applies to transfers made through the bank’s mobile app.

This step aims to ease the financial burden for both individuals and small business owners who frequently conduct online transactions.

Sterling Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to providing customer-focused services.

Obinna Ukachukwu, the bank’s Growth Executive in charge of Consumer and Business Banking, explained that the decision is driven by the bank’s desire to make banking fairer and more inclusive for everyone.

In his statement, Ukachukwu expressed that people should not be penalized for accessing their own funds.

He also pointed out that this move reflects the bank’s strong belief in Nigeria’s future and its commitment to supporting its customers.

Despite not being the largest bank in Nigeria, Sterling Bank is taking bold steps to make banking easier and more accessible.
