Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has reacted after being declared wanted by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
NAPTIP made the announcement on Friday, accusing the musician of being connected to alleged rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
The agency published the wanted notice on its official Instagram account, asking anyone with useful information about his location to contact them.
The development followed earlier allegations that the singer claimed in a live Instagram video that he had sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl.
NAPTIP had invited him for questioning over the incident, but he reportedly ignored the invitation.
In response, Speed Darlington said he is not worried about the agency’s action.
Speaking in an interview, he insisted that NAPTIP does not have the legal authority to label him wanted.
He added that his lawyer is aware of the notice and would take the necessary steps to address the matter.
