The Southern Youth Movement (SYM) has expressed strong support for Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him to run for the Lagos State governorship in 2027.
According to Afripost, they believe he is the perfect candidate to lead the state toward innovation and youth empowerment.
In a statement released over the weekend, Chief Promise Lawuru, the National President of SYM, affirmed that Seyi Tinubu is constitutionally eligible and represents a new era of leadership.
“We, the Southern Youth Movement, officially call on Engr. Seyi Tinubu to contest for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election. He is fully qualified by age, constitutionally, and as a proud Lagosian,” the statement read.
The group pledged to mobilize youth support across southern Nigeria to champion Seyi Tinubu’s candidacy, emphasizing his work ethic, expertise in digital innovation, and leadership capabilities as key assets for Lagos’ continued development.
“Seyi Tinubu is not just the son of the president; he has proven himself as an achiever in his own right. Lagos needs a leader with a forward-thinking digital mindset to steer its growth. Seyi represents the future governor Lagos needs,” they said.
SYM further encouraged Lagosians to evaluate Seyi Tinubu based on his personal qualities, highlighting his credibility, experience, and vision for the state.
