Simon Ekpa is Just a Content Creator, Not to Be Taken Seriously – Ohanaeze Ndigbo

By Bayero Ade

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a leading Igbo socio-cultural organization, has dismissed Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa as a “content creator” unworthy of serious attention.

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, November 30, Damian Okeke-Ogene, the Vice President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, ridiculed Ekpa’s activities, describing them as theatrical and better suited for Nollywood.

“Simon Ekpa calls himself a content creator, so how can we take him seriously? He should go to Nollywood and deceive people there,” Okeke-Ogene said. “To us, he is simply a Nollywood character.”

The statement follows Ekpa’s recent arrest by Finnish police on charges of inciting violence and alleged acts of terrorism through his social media platforms. Authorities have confirmed that Ekpa will face trial in 2025.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo reiterated its disapproval of Ekpa’s tactics, emphasizing that his actions do not align with the aspirations of the Igbo people.
