Shinkafi, Afikuyomi, others head panels as APC inaugurates screening committees

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress announced on Saturday that it will inaugurate chairmen and secretaries of respective Screening Committees for the House of Representatives, Senate and Governorship candidates in Abuja today.

The inauguration, which is expected to take place at 12.00 noon and 10.00 am on Sunday, will hold at Fraser Suites in Central Business District, Abuja.

The development was disclosed by the National Organizing Secretary of the party, Sulaiman Argungu, in a statement issued Saturday.

Argungu said that the exercise for the screening of aspirants follows immediately.The organising secretary stated that the screening for the House of Representatives aspirants would take place at Zeus Paradise Hotel, Abuja by 2.00 pm while the one for Senate and Governorship aspirants would take place on Sunday at Fraser Suites at 10.00 am.

The screening for aspirants vying for the House of Representatives was divided into 10 panels with Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, Dr. Sam Jaja, Senator Mohammed Abba Aj, Chinedu Eluemunoh, Senator Umar Tafida Argungu, John Alkali, Chris A. Akomas, Abdulmalik Mahmoud, Abdulazeez Abubakar and Umaru Dembo as chairmen.On the other hand, the four screening panels for Senate will be superintended by Senator Nurudeen Usman, Senator Lanre Tejuoso, Mahmood Shinkafi and Usman Baraya.The screening committee for Governorship aspirants would, however, be headed by Senator Sodangi Abubakar, Senator Maina Ma’aji Lawan and Senator Mohammed Mana.
