Senate suspends legislative activities over death of Reps member

The Senate on Wednesday suspended legislative activities over the death of a member of the House of Representatives, Olaide Adewale Akinremi.

Akinremi, who represented Ibadan North Federal Constituency of Oyo State, passed on in the early hours of Wednesday after a brief illness.

Akim Rotimi, spokesperson of the House of Representatives, announced Akinremi’s demise during plenary on Wednesday.

The Senate observed a minute silence in honour of the deceased lawmaker and thereafter suspended plenary and all legislative activities for the day.
